A few condos and private home rentals are somtimes available for short-term rental on the North Fork.  Those listed below have been personally visited by North Fork Weddings.

This brand new condo resort is stupendously located on the North Fork of L.I, and is one of only a handful of places with water views. The sunset views are not be outdone anywhere in the world. Not only is the resort new, but this concept is rare on the East End which has mostly small motels/hotels and B&B's. Short of owning your own place or renting a house for the season, this is a very comfortable, convenient, and luxurious way to spend time out east. All condos are two bedroom/ two bath, sleep 6, have flat screen tv's, full kitchenettes (even a wine chiller!) and wi-fi. There's a heated swimming pool and laundry facilities on site and if you have a large group or family, it offers multi unit special pricing. It is located only minutes from the Village of Greenport and the Shelter Island Ferry providing traffic free access to the Hamptons. I found the pricing surprisingly affordable so if you plan a visit this summer, you may be one of the resort's first guests!

Wow!  Fit for a billionaire, but you don't have to be one to experience what essentially is this private resort.  This gorgeous waterfront home sits on four private acres surrounded by 100 acres of preserve and sports a heated granite pool, private three hole putting greens, and the most spectacular natural views around.  And that's just the outside!  Inside is a great room with Yamaha player piano, media room, exercise room, gourmet kitchen, and five bedrooms, each with private bath and a master suite perfect for brides and grooms.  The house is owned by a long time North Fork resident so you will get a personalized introduction to the benefits of wine country celebrations.  You can choose to have the entire wedding here (there's ample parking), or just stay here with friends, family or bridal party and have the reception at a local vineyard.  You can not fully investigate weddings on the North Fork without checking out this amazing property.

What could provide a more authentic North Fork experience than spending a summer in an 1877 farmhouse listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places?  The Red Barn has been lovingly restored and you will surely enjoy the wrap around porch, the open fields, blueberries, old fashioned gardens, and country kitchen.  The master bedroom is downstairs while upstairs are three bedrooms for the kids or other friends and family.  Modern amenities such as central air conditioning, computer hook ups, and even a hot tub make the house user friendly and the proximity to vineyards, beaches, and shopping make it tourist friendly too.  The owners run Red Barn as a B&B throughout the year, but it is available for monthly rentals.  This is an especially charming home, ideal for families or house sharing with other family members.

Located along the designated scenic byway and only a very short walk from Horton's Point Lighthouse and beach, this gorgeous center hall colonial provides wooded privacy, a heated 20X40 pool, three full bedrooms, study with computer, scanner, fax, and futon for extra guests, living room with fireplace, family room, large eat in kitchen, formal dining room and a private shade garden with hammock in which to wile away the hours.  This is a privately owned home and is not available for groupies, but there is more than enough room for an extended family.  It is available for monthly rental in July or August of each year, and minimum time is 3 weeks.  This is the home of the owner of these websites so you can be sure it is exactly as represented!  Rental Fee: $12,000.00 per month, all utilities included.  House cleaning and pool maintenance also provided.

Hamptons Bed and Breakfasts

It truly will feel as though you are staying at your favorite Aunt's home when you are a guest at this B&B located near the tip of the North Fork. The three charming guest rooms have been decorated with great attention to detail with each having an old fashioned floral theme. All have private baths with two having claw foot tubs with shower and one having a stall shower. The dining room and parlor maintain the old fashioned Victorian feel also. Only minutes from the harbor village of Greenport and North Fork wineries, it is particularly well located for those arriving to the North Fork via Cross Sound Ferry. Both sandy bay beaches and LI Sound beaches are nearby and you will want to sun yourself on one of them for a bit after enjoying a full breakfast served by Aunt Dot herself.

A good wager would be that absolutely no one could pull up to this gorgeous B&B and not say "Wow!"  The house sits on acres of landscaped grounds exploding with color and scents.  Vignettes suitable for a cover of Life dot the gardens and in fact you will find paintings of some of them in the house.  It will be hard to move past the wide front porch into the house, but enter you will and the wow factor continues.  A spacious hallway is flanked by the cozy parlor with books, a piano, a fireplace, and super comfy furniture and the dining room where guests gather each morning to enjoy a sumptuous breakfast.  Pride of place belongs to the caricature of owner Lorry's father, Howie Mann, band leader and drummer, drawn by Al Hirschfeld, famous NY Times caricaturist.  The guest rooms, each with large private bath, show off Lorry's decorating skill to perfection.  Showcasing your hosts desire to help you relax is the separate massage room!  Perhaps the greatest assets to this home are owners, Jerry and Lorry, who so love running a B&B and have so many fun and interesting talents, stories, and insights to share.

A Butler's Manor: This B&B's location within walking distance of the train station and the posh village of Southampton is not the only thing to recommend it. The rooms are decorated with such a sense of balance, charm and beauty that guests not only feel privileged but welcomed and comfortable. The common rooms are cool in summer, warm in winter, and delightful all year round. You'll have a breakfast suitable for serving at the finest NYC restaurants, and perhaps topping, but certainly matching, any memories you hold of breakfasts you had at your grandmother's or that little place in France. There's an outdoor pool framed with specimen trees and bushes, a back porch covered with wisteria, a fireplace, books, and fresh flowers everywhere. Best of all, however, are the owners, Kim and Chris Allen. You will be especially comfortable in their presence, and after a weekend at their B&B, feel especially privileged to have met them.

The simple beauty of this true farmhouse is seen not only in the wrap around porch and country kitchen, but also in all the small touches: a bunch of wildflowers in a royal blue pitcher - an antique quilt displayed on a wall. The rooms have the perfect juxtaposition of creativity and authenticity. Its views are of farms and vineyards, its scents are of wildflowers and grapes. Its feeling is timelessness. Round the corner to find historic farms, green fields with horses grazing, and working vineyards. This is the North Fork as it once was and in some places, still is.

When I visited Seatuck Cove House, one of my favorite quotations came to mind: Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. Rachel Carson. Indeed, this is a place to contemplate beauty. The views from every room are stupendous and no visitor can fail to feel a sense of calmness. The décor of the inn seems an extension of nature's beauty outside: clear, clean, and open, but with little nooks and crannies perfect for reading, dreaming, or chatting. Don't be misled so as to think Seatuck Cove House is quiet all of the time! There is lively chatter in the bright and sunny kitchen, laughter in the recreation room, and perhaps even a few grunts in fully equipped exercise room! The Seatuck Cove House is perfectly situated so that guests can easily enjoy the beauties of both the Hamptons and LI Wine Country.

Hotels, Motels and Inns

There are few "chain" hotels on the South Fork. These maintain the degree of hospitality, cost, and ambience for which the corporations are known. Far more motels/hotels/inns are privately owned. Those listed below have been personally visited by South Fork Weddings (Hampton Weddings).

When you want to the comfort and conveniences of a noted hotel chain, but the charm of a local and privately owned lodging establishment, this hotel is just the spot. Totally remodeled under the new ownership, the hotel features beautifully appointed rooms decorated with the charm and style of the East End. Many have Jacuzzis and all are equipped with the most up to date amenities. It is located right next to Tanger Mall and is minutes off Exit 72 on the LIE. The hotel has conference rooms, a restaurant, an elegant ballroom, gardens and an outdoor swimming pool. Riverhead is the Gateway to the East End so that guests can visit both North Fork Wine Country and The Hamptons with equal ease.

If your idea of a fun weekend on the North Fork is to sip some Long Island wine while sitting in your comfortable room overlooking Peconic Bay, Dreamer's Cove Inn may be the answer.  Every single room is waterview!  Kayaks are available for use right on the inn's private beach and a wide sprawling lawn is ideal for BBQ's, weddings (it can hold a huge tent), frisbee, or just searching for four leaf clovers.  A casual beachy atmosphere prevails with all rooms having beautiful light oak floors, wide windows to allow for sublime viewing, and even kitchens/kitchenettes.  This is the perfect spot for groups to get away as the sixteen rooms all not only look out on the water, but are all on the same level.  Imagine the fun the kids, your fraternity/sorority friends, or your wedding guests can have here.  The inn is under new ownership and management and the manager Chris was raised out east.  (He's also an veteran of Iraq.)  The rooms are large and some are especially romantic.  Do remember that this is a beach side inn and has that a seaside feel, not a Victorian B&B feel.  It is very conveniently located near all the wineries and is only about 15 minutes from the last exit off LIE.  If you want to hold a party, Chris will be glad to help you make it a really fabulous event.  (See Venues)

People visit the Hamptons for a multitude of reasons: the white sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, water sports, fishing, horse shows, shopping in trendy boutiques, dining at gourmet restaurants or chomping down on corn on the cob and lobster at a seafood shack, night life, whale watching, spa treatments. In other words, they want fun and relaxation! Relaxation is yours at any one of the three lodging establishments of Enclave Inn. The rooms are large, decorated in classic Hampton style, and have all the amenities to make your visit comfortable and easy. Each hotel has a pool for you to cool down after your day of playing, touring or shopping or to wake yourself up after a night of clubbing! The only thing express about this hotel is the staff's surefire ability to tend to all your comforts fast! Its 89 rooms are beautifully appointed in a décor that is far from "chain hotel" style. Each room is bright, airy, modern, comfortable, and totally captures the style of the East End. Leisure travelers to the East End find themselves perfectly situated to explore the entire East End. One day can be spent in North Fork Wine Country and another in the trendy Hamptons, and still another at Tanger Outlet Malls right down the road. Business travelers have all the modern amenities they need, including internet access from each room. You can't beat this hotel for convenience and comfort.

There are very few resorts on the East End of Long Island and nowhere is there one more beautiful than The Pridwin Hotel. Located on the famous Crescent Beach on Shelter Island, this property offers guests a wide range of experiences. You can read by the pool, play a game of tennis, swim in the clear salt water, bicycle the shady twisty roads, golf, hike, kayak or kick back! The hotel is available for weddings, corporate events, and family vacations. Rooms are booked quickly in season, so be sure to make reservations early. My favorite time on Shelter Island is early fall, so be sure to ask about rates for this time of year also.

The Harborfront Inn is a 21^st century luxury hotel smack dab in the middle of a Norman Rockwell scene. The counterpoint of modern design in the lobby with its dark wooden floors and unique architectural details against the delightfully small town ambience complete with a carousel in the park and ships in the harbor balances perfectly. All rooms are spacious and have such amenities as Frette™ linens, flat screen televisions, CD stereo systems, high-speed internet access and massaging body sprays in the showers. (The bathrooms are just amazing, especially the Terrace Suite with its Jacuzzi tub!) The suites are truly magnificent, the largest having its own private 900-square-foot deck overlooking Mitchell Park, Greenport Harbor and Shelter Island. I just can't imagine a more romantic spot for a bride and groom. Many of the 35 rooms have similar views that are gorgeous by day or night. Every attention to your comfort and pleasure has been given: complimentary continental breakfast in the lobby in front of a fireplace and curved bar, local art in the hallways, lobby and guest rooms, a fitness center and inviting furniture. The hotel has been featured in many national publications and has received accolades from everywhere. A delightful ferry ride from Sag Harbor to Shelter Island and then from Shelter Island to Greenport is possible! Truly a luxury, it is one you can't afford to miss.
